Do you want to improve your quality of life or your health?
Do you constantly feel tired or stressed?
Do you feel like there’s not enough time in your day?
Do you have a health or personal goal in mind but don’t know how to achieve it?
What is Integrative Health & Lifestyle Coaching?
Integrative Health and Lifestyle Coaching is great for anyone who needs a little, or a lot, of extra help in meeting goals related to health, nutrition, lifestyle, stress management, management of chronic conditions, generalized life satisfaction, and much more. As an occupational therapist, I have been trained to look at an individual in a holistic, integrated manner to determine areas of strength and to use those strengths as a powerful strategy to help propel individuals forward to accomplish their goals. I have also been well trained to observe barriers that are preventing them from succeeding and find ways to overcome those barriers. Analyzing tasks, rituals, habits, routines, and roles are essential parts of my training as an occupational therapist that help me to find ways to make meaningful activities more successful. In this wonderful age of technology we live in, we have an abundance of information available to us online, but combing through all of the information can be exhausting. There is also often a large gap between knowing what to do to improve our health and accomplishing those goals. This is where my extensive training as an OT comes in. Combine this with my holistic health coach training (nutrition, supplementation, dietary theories, and much more) through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, along with my lifelong love of personal transformation books and nutrition and health topics, I will be the perfect coach and guide to help you dig deep and unlock your inner wisdom that will allow you to transform and meet your life and health goals. I am also skilled at a variety of other holistic treatment tools such as therapeutic yoga, meditation, CranioSacral Therapy, Reiki, essential oils, natural herbs & teas, Nutrition Response Testing, and intuitive guidance that may be used in conjunction with coaching to help you to further reach your goals.
I believe it is also important to know that I haven't come by this specialty area by chance. I have learned through personal experience and struggle. In 2014 my health took a significant decline and I was plagued with chronic fatigue, brain fog, chronic headaches, and many other symptoms that made it hard to work and function in daily life. At this time I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis/hypothyroidism and told by my physician that I would have to take medication for the rest of my life to manage my condition and that it was incurable. Over the next few years I also experienced adrenal fatigue, chronic pain, chronic headaches, IBS & other digestive issues, fertility struggles, depression, and anxiety. I was very disappointed in the lack of symptom relief I experienced with taking the thyroid medication and the lack of help I received from the professionals I sought out. That's when I started researching and completed LOTS of trial-and-error on my own between supplementation, dietary changes, lifestyle changes, and many trainings to heal myself. It has been a long road, but am proud to say that I am no longer plagued by symptoms of these diagnosis, as long as I maintain the lifestyle that I need. Of course, like everyone, I occasionally have set backs, but I am always able to recalibrate and get back on track. It hasn't been easy and it's often been 2 steps forward, 1 step back, but I've moved forward and am very satisfied with where I am on my health journey. It was a big challenge and I wish I had known about health coaching and lifestyle OT to help me through the process. I often felt very alone, misunderstood, and frustrated. It is my goal to be the guide that I wish I had when I was embarking on my journey of healing.
About Integrative Health & Lifestyle Coaching
Integrative Health & Lifestyle Coachingimproves health and wellness by preventing and managing chronic conditions through building healthier lifestyles. Over the course of several weeks or months, I will guide you through an individualized process that will empower you with the tools needed to meet your personal health goals by redesigning high-risk lifestyles into healthier ones.
Integrative Health & Lifestyle Coaching is the process of acquiring health-promoting habits and routines in your daily life. You will meet with me, on a weekly, every other week, or monthly basis, depending on your individual needs. We will discuss your health history and your current goals, and learn more about your daily habits and routines. With this information, I will help you to identify areas for improvement. Together, we will devise steps for making changes that will benefit your health without feeling like you are “depriving” yourself, or doing something that you won’t want to stick with for the long-term. Occasional “backsliding” is natural, and you will learn tools for getting back on your program if you have a slip-up.
Because health status and everyday quality of life is so closely linked to lifestyle factors, Integrative Health & Lifestyle Coaching can help improve many conditions and diagnoses, including:
It is also appropriate for “well” patients without a medical diagnosis who simply want support in making healthier changes in their life or are looking to increase life satisfaction.
How long do programs last?
In order to maximize your success and enhance your momentum, coaching generally works best by meeting weekly or every other week for approximately 60 minutes each time for a length of 6 months. This has been scientifically proven to be the most effective for individuals to see LASTING LIFELONG CHANGES. However, I realize that this may not be the best fit for every single person. Some may need to meet weekly in order to maximize accountability if they struggle to stay on task and stick with a program. Others may need to check in less frequently and meet every other week or on a monthly basis for a longer program if they are internally motivated and great at meeting goals and sticking with healthy habits. We can find a program that will work best for you as my goal with coaching you is to make it client-centered. Depending on the program that you choose, email interactions to check in on progress between sessions may be a component as well. It all starts with an initial consultation where I get to learn more about you, your history, health goals, life goals, and the type of program that you are looking for. Begin by filling out the contact form or by calling/texting me at 843-773-1633 or emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to working with you and guiding your transformation to a healthier and more satisfying life!
Initial Evaluation Information
The initial evaluation lasts approximately 60 minutes- this is where we get down to the basics of your history and the goals you would like to accomplish. The initial consultation does not commit you to begin coaching with me or to start any type of program. Rather, it is a time for us to mutually determine if integrative health & lifestyle coaching are right for you and that I am the right coach to help you through this process. The cost for the initial consultation is $50 & is to be paid prior to or during the initial consultation visit. I am happy to do a free 15 minute phone consultation with anyone who desires to determine if coaching is right for them.
Pricing and Payment Information
This program is an investment in yourself, your health, and your life satisfaction.
Each session after the initial evaluation is $85 per 55 minute session.
If you wish to purchase a package of 13 sessions (generally meeting every other week for 6 months unless you wish to increase or decrease this frequency), this costs $1,000, saving you $105. I recommend purchasing a package to help keep you committed to the program, but this is ultimately up to you.
You may also qualify to receive lifestyle occupational therapy coaching services through your insurance benefits if you have private insurance and your specific plan allows for occupational therapy services. I am in-network with BCBS of South Carolina, State Health Plan, and Tricare East. If you have other private insurance, I am able to provide you with a SuperBill upon request that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Many health savings accounts or flexible savings accounts are also able to pay for occupational therapy services. I am happy to answer any questions about insurance processing and to look into your insurance benefits to determine if it may be fully or partially covered. At this time, insurance-processed sessions will need to be in-person, face-to-face. However, I am actively working to be an approved telehealth/telemedicine provider that would allow me to complete video sessions in the future.
Where will we meet?
There are a few different meeting options and you will be able to choose based off your location and what works best for you! We can meet online via FaceTime or Skype, Zoom online meeting platform, via the phone, or we can meet in person in my clinic in Florence, South Carolina. We can also mix and match how we meet depending on what works best for you. The only requirement is that wherever/whenever we do our meetings that you are in a place with minimal distractions and a relaxing, private setting that will allow for the most optimal progress possible. As previously mentioned, sessions will need to be in-person at this time if your insurance is paying for sessions.
I look forward to meeting with you and working together to bring you improved health and life satisfaction! Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or to schedule a free phone consultation or to schedule your initial evaluation
